To say that wedding plans have been sent into turmoil this year is a pretty big understatement!  Here at Harefield Barn, we have been looking at ways we can create something special for couples, in spite of the limitations that may be put in place for celebrations taking place over the next few months.

There are a number of reasons why a couple might choose to change their original plans, but most we speak to cannot imagine any sort of wedding with social distancing in place.  After all, if you can’t give your nearest and dearest a hug on your wedding day, then when can you?!  As a result, our larger gatherings are being postponed until such time as restrictions are relaxed and big parties can return to something more like the ones envisaged.  In the meantime, however, many couples may choose to go ahead with the actual marriage ceremony, and we are delighted to be able to offer ‘The Leveret’, our Intimate Wedding offer at Harefield Barn for those choosing that route.

Although close to Exeter, our beautifully secluded country location means that it’s very easy to forget what’s going on in the world outside, so you can concentrate on that special person and the moment when you exchange promises and vows as you start a new chapter in your lives together.  You may choose to have a marriage ceremony with just the two of you (in which case we would be delighted to act as witnesses) or invite a few friends to share your day, but whichever you decide, Harefield Barn will be exclusively yours, and we will be here to help you add any finishing touches to personalise your time with us.

Of course, this is not just for those who are having to change their plans – a truly personal and intimate marriage may well be your first choice, and it would be our privilege to help you make it happen.

We have spoken to some fantastic local professionals who can take care of all your needs, from flowers to food, and photography to accommodation; or why not have a celebrant who can create an entirely bespoke ceremony for you to share with your close friends or family. However, as always with Harefield Barn, we aim to stay as flexible as possible, so the choices are entirely up to you.  Perhaps you might like to stay in a local hotel, holiday cottage or Inn to make the most of the fabulous Devon countryside, and of course a cream tea whilst you’re in the westcountry is a must!  We can organise as much, or indeed as little, as you like.

Your booking would include:

• Exclusive use of Harefield Barn and all its facilities for 7 hours (12 noon to 7 pm)
• A bottle of Champagne or Non-Alcoholic Fizz
• A box of local hand-made luxury chocolates or macarons (from local chef and artisan maker, Pretty Little Pastries)
• Help with planning and coordination of your day.
