What an eventful day

It has certainly been a long and busy day here today, but the fire is lit and it's jolly nearly time to relax!

We started by having to make a worrying ‘phone call to the vet, where our lovely Holly had spent the night.  In true terrier style, she had eaten something she shouldn’t have, and could have been extremely poorly.  Thankfully, I can report that all is well!  Robert took her to the vet very quickly, and after 24 hours of treatment and ‘TLC’ she is safely home and as good as new, if somewhat tired after a pretty stressful time.

A morning of getting to grips with Health & Safety and Fire Risk Assessments followed, plus a visit from the lovely chaps who installed our wood burner for some final commissioning and problem solving.

Sadly, we then had to say goodbye to our lovely son Sam and his girlfriend Hettty.  They are off to pastures new, having spent two years with us here and been an integral part of the development of Harefield Barn, both physically and emotionally.  We will miss them dreadfully, and can’t thank them enough for all their help and support.  Our very best wishes for a happy and fun time ahead as they start a new adventure together in South Devon.

Lunchtime saw a flying visit from my brother and his beautiful fiancee; a meeting with an insurance agent followed, and the day ended on a wonderful high, as another lovely couple decided that Harefield Barn was the very best place to hold their wedding next year.  We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful corner of Devon and it the greatest of pleasures to be able to share it with everyone on such a special day.

Phew!  … and tomorrow…. well tomorrow, as they say, is another day!
